Absolutely. Your security is our top priority. All transactions are protected with bank-grade encryption. Your account is secured by your Login PIN, and every payment must be authorised by your unique Transaction PIN or your phone's biometrics (fingerprint or Face ID).
No, you do not need a bank account to create a GoTap wallet and receive money. However, to fund your wallet yourself, you will need to link a debit card or a bank account. Our goal is to provide a valuable service for everyone, including the unbanked.
You can fund your wallet in two main ways:
- Bank/Card Transfer: Securely link your debit card or bank account in the app to add funds instantly
- GoTap Agent: Visit any of our trusted GoTap Agents in your neighbourhood to deposit cash directly into your wallet.
- Funding your wallet is free.
- Paying a GoTap merchant is free.
- Sending money to another GoTap user is free for your first 5 transfers each month (and just ₦5 after that).
- A small, transparent fee applies only when you transfer money out of GoTap to an external bank account.
